Real Laos Tour (from North to South)

13 Days / 12 Nights

Day1: From Chiang Rai Thailand - Lao border Houyxay -Pakbeng by boat.
Pakbeng
you will be met your Guide at the Lao border, Then we take by traditional boat down stream on Mekong River. On the way stop to visit minority villages, Hmong hill tribe. Lunch served on boat. Arrive in Pakbeng late afternoon. Overnight in Pakbeng.

 

Day2: Pakbeng- Luang Prabang by boat.Luang Prabang


Today continue our journey to Luang Prabang and also on the way we stop to visit villages and Pak Ou cave which is natural cave contains 2.500 Buddha statues which located on the Junction of Mekong River and Nam Ou River met together. You will see two different color of water during dry season. Arrive in Luang Prabang before sunset. Lunch served on boat. Overnight in Luang prabang.

 

Day3: Luang Prabang- city tour.

In the morning we take sight seeing tour in the town to visit temples such as: Wat Visoun Temple the originally was built in 1513 by the King Visounarath made of wood. It was destroyed by black Chinese (Hor) in 1887, now has become the museum of the temple. Visit Wat Aham Temple and the National Museum (Former royal palace) which was collected the antiques keep inside included sacred Prabang Buddha statues. We then visit Wat Xiengthong Temple is the most beautiful temple and the oldest Wat was built in 1560, the only one was not destroyed by the war. Walk around city, then clime up Phousi Mount for over looking the view of Luang Prabang  328 steps to the top of Phousi. Shopping at night market.


Day4: Khouangsi Waterfall.

You may get up early morning to offer the food for Buddhist Monks, over 300 Monks walking a line on street side for collecting food. And then do not miss to see local market, we then come back to hotel for break fast,

After breakfast, we drive to Kuangsi Waterfall 25 km. On the way we stop at Ban Na Sao, Ban Na Ouan Hmong villages. On Arrival at waterfall, we walk through forest take a short trekking. Possible to swim. Return back to Luang Prabang, on the way back we visit weaving village of Ban Xangkhong and Ban Xieng Lek.

Day5: Luang Prabang -  Xieng Khouang ( Plain of Jars) by car.


PhonsavanhXiengkhouangA beautiful drive to Xieng Khouang, the site of the PLAIN OF JARS, traveling through the mountains. On the way, stop at a cave that was used as a hospital during the time the Americans were fighting the Vietnamese – Laos, although neutral, was bombed repeatedly during this time and suffered many casualties. Overnight in Xieng khouang.

Day6: Discover Plain of Jars.

Plain of JarsTour the Plain of JarsAfter breakfast, visit local fresh market, we drive to discover plain of Jars, the 2nd and 3rd sites. Lunch in Mouang Khun old city in Xieng Khouang province. After lunch visit Wat Phia Wat, Wat That Fun and some hill tribe Hmong. return back to Phonsavan stop at the first site is biggest one over 300 jars and see sunset here.

Day7: Xieng Khouang - Vang Vieng by car.

After break, we drive back to the junction, PHOU KUN, we make stop on the way lunch in KASI village, arrive in Vang Vieng late afternoon. We take a traditional boat trip on Nam Song river and walking around the villages very beautiful scenery, limestone. Overnigh at: Elephant Crossing.

Day8: Vang Vieng -  Nam Nguem Lake - Vientiane by car.
Khone PhapengKhone PhapengIn the morning to visit Tham Jang cave, then we drive to Nam Ngum lake on the way stop at the Then take by traditional boat on Nam Ngum lake for about 2 hour. Lunch served on boat included. continue driving to villagers product traditional salt, Arrive in Vientiane late afternoon. Overnight in Vientiane.

Day9: Sightseeing tour in Vientiane .

That Luang StupaPatuxay MonumentIn the morning We take for sight seeing tour to visit religious museum. Wat Sisakhet, the oldest temple has been survived from Siamese War of 1828 and its cloister contains more than 8.000 Buddha statues, Hor Prakeo, the former home-temple of the Emerald Buddha statues. Wat Simouang. That Luang Stupa, the single most important stupa in Laos.
Have lunch at the training restaurant of a humanitarian project which works with children living on the streets, to understand about the issues facing the poorest people in the city and appreciate what is being done to help them. In the afternoon, visit an NGO which is working to help rehabilitate people injured by the legacy of the "secret war.

Day10: Vientiane – Pakse – Done Kong Island by flight.
Wat PhouTempleEarly morning, transfer to airport for fly to Pakse On arrival, we drive on the National Road No. 13th south to Champasak and visit the ruins of Wat PhouTemple, which is well known as the most important Hindu sanctuary of the Khmer Empire between9th –13th centuries. Here is also a chance to visit some nearby Khmer temples and Buddhist shrines, after a short stop to explore, we continue to Done Kong Island. Overnight in Kong Island.

Day11:  Explore Done Kong Island.Ban Hang Khone
After breakfast, we take by traditional boat to explore the local villages Ban Khone, where the old French colonial buildings and its retrace the old colonial past with seeing the first Lao railway with its locomotive. We walking about 30 minutes to visit Liphi waterfall . After lunch return back the same boat to Don Kong your Hotel.

Day12: Done Kong - Pakse.

After break fast, We drive to famous waterfalls of  Khone Phapeng, the largest waterfall in the world. We drive to Phou ASA National reservation , we ride elephant sightseeing tour around National reservation. Lunch here, return back to PAKSE is at leisure on your own. Overnight at:  Pakse Hotel.

Day13: Departure.

In the morning transfer to Pakse air port for your flight to Bang kok Thailand or Siem Reap Combodia.
